NLR switches to MegaSeg
Posted 19 February 2007, 17:45
I purchased MegaSeg as the backend for the Live365 stream on my New London Rocks web site. I had been using iTunes with a fixed, 6-hour playlist that I set up.
Right now the playlist is entirely random but I am working on tagging all of the music in my library so that I can set up some themed shows and a fixed schedule for them. There’s a bit of a learning curve with this software so it might take me a month or so to get things the way I want them.
If you were/are in a New London County based band and you recorded anything and you would like to have it included in the stream, use this contact form for instructions on how to submit it. There will be a segment in the stream for music by bands from outside of New London County but made frequent appearances in the area so feel free to submit your music if your band falls into that category.
2006 GTD summary

Well, I didn’t get everything done in 2006 that I hoped to but I suspect that I got more done than I would have without my new GTD philosophy.
Here’s my updated list for 2007:
- Update the TextPattern software for this blog
- Cousin Joe is supposedly sending me 6 new photos to post
- Look into purchasing and running MegaSeg to manage the Live365 stream
- Get historical stats database online – I’m about 30% done right now
- Get updated player profiles online – I’ve installed the wiki and I’m in the process of pre-populating it with my exisiting player profiles
- Restart daily news updates
- Come up with a new design for the site
- Get the all-time gig database online – Database design work is done just a matter of importing the data and throwing together a web interface
- Turn the home page into a blog
Tennis Ladder
- Build from scratch (PHP and MySQL) – I really need to start getting more exercise this year
Gales Ferry Cub Scout Pack 55
- Find out guidelines for CS pack web sites (Very low priority – not sure how much longer Danny will continue with scouting)
Fast break!

I asked my wife to video tape some of my oldest son Danny’s basketball game so that I could use it to point out some things to him. Turns out our team (I’m asst. coach) was overmatched in this game so there weren’t too many highlights for Danny, but here’s one worth sharing (4MB MP4 file). Danny is #7 on the blue team.

My 2nd cousin Ryan has set up a blog for a comic strip that he’s writing called Hungry Ghosts . Check it out.
