Colin Linden

If one is judged by the company one keeps, then that alone has earned Colin Linden his place among the blues legends. It began with a friendship with the great Howlin' Wolf from the tender age of 11.

Then came a close musical and personal relationship with members of The Band and creatively inspiring associations with artists such as T. Bone Burnett and Bruce Cockburn. Colin has gone on to write, produce and/or perform with many of Canada's best known and up and coming musicians.

Colin's 1994 release South At Eight North At Nine won a Juno. Last year also saw Colin win a Juno Award (Canadian Music Industry's major awards) for best Blues/Gospel recording and kudos for producing Lennie Gallant's multi-award winning album The Open Window.

In addition he became the first Canadian songwriter to have two singles chart simultaneously in the Top 10 on different charts with "Guitar Talk" by Michelle Wright (#1 Country) and "Remedy" by The Band (#6 CAR). As well, he made appearances on The Tonight Show, Conan O'Brien (not to mention touring Europe) with Bruce Cockburn's band.
