Top Of The Blues
w/ Pinetop Perkins, Willie "Big Eyes" Smith and Stan Bronstein
© & (p) 1995 Deluge Records, Inc.
Top Of The Blues is the debut release of The Tony O Blues Band with special guests Pinetop Perkins, Willie "Big Eyes" Smith and Stan Bronstein. Gifted New York City singer/songwriter/guitar player, Tony O, has been a respected member of the international blues scene for many years.
With Top Of The Blues, Tony O has replicated a Chicago blues ensemble feeling similar to what the band presents live. The sum of the parts is much more important to these players than ego-gratification at the expense of the music.
Top Of The Blues is a group effort by players at the top of their game who share mutual respect and admiration. The music comes first and the blues audience is going to treasure this release for many years to come.
Produced by Bob Stander and Tony O

Reviews and Comments
"Tony O plays with an almost desperate intent, choking out riffs that sizzle."
"Guitarist Tony O has enough smarts to know to pick up the pace and when to let it up."
"Tony O stays true to the blues tradition on guitar, playing stylishly, avoiding out of context embellishments. (This guy is blues to the bone). "
